Wiltshire Police launch Culture, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy 2025 - 2030 |
||
We have just launched our Culture, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (CED&I) strategy for 2025 – 2030 at Wiltshire Police. This will support us to continue Keeping Wiltshire Safe.
What is our vision? To be the most inclusive police service in the country which is fully representative of the communities we serve. Our people know that they belong and can fully be their authentic selves.
What are our focuses? There are four key domains which act as the focus for our strategy: 👪Our People: We will focus on mentoring, leadership development for underrepresented groups, and fair, transparent promotion processes to support our people. 🔗Our Policies and Processes: We will ensure policies and processes are equitable, transparent, and designed with inclusion in mind. We will eliminate any systemic bias and embed accountability into how we operate. 🌍Our Public: Everyone should feel that Wiltshire Police is responsive, fair, and inclusive. We will continually adapt our approach based on feedback and outcomes, recognising that public expectations evolve and that trust, once built, must continually be earned. 🙌Our Partners: We will continue to build strong, inclusive partnerships across the criminal justice system and the community, leveraging collective effort to achieve our Culture, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion goals.
How will we achieve this? Deputy Chief Constable, Mark Cooper, will drive forward the implementation of the CED&I strategy. DCC Cooper’s role will include reviewing performance against the strategy, work to resolve any obstacles, and steer policy changes.
What opportunities does the strategy present for our colleagues? There are several dedicated actions that we will deliver across the strategy timeline which focus on our leadership, learning & development, and data. As an example of this, beyond standard CED&I training, all Sergeants, managers and above will undergo dedicated culture and inclusive leadership development.
The Leadership Team are committed to fostering a culture where ethical behaviour is celebrated and expected. We pledge to our communities that our senior leaders will lead by example, demonstrating through actions that inclusion is non-negotiable at Wiltshire Police.
